After hearing good things about Khold I got this. I must be missing something, because my overall impression is that, while I can't think of anything particularly bad to say about it, I will probably never listen to it again. The production is good enough, the bass is audible, the riffs are overall pretty decent, but it just doesn't really grab me. It's kind of slow for the most part.

It starts off decently with "Atselgraver," which has some okay guitar parts, but it still just strike me as particularly original or likeable. "Død" is about the same, as are all the other songs on the album. Maybe I just don't "get" them or maybe they're just too slow for me to like, but holy hell, this strikes me as boring and unenergetic. Maybe they are just so fucking grim and hateful that they don't even like their own music, which would explain why it sounds the way it does. Most of it just sorts of chugs along, the drums are kind of boring, and the vocals and pretty repetitive and, shit, I need more adjectives, I was going to say "uninteresting" again. Maybe if I say "uninteresting" enough times it'll sort of symbolize the way this album, much like this review, just sort of chugs along and goes nowhere.
