Marduk - Panzer Division Marduk

A bit over-hyped and repetitive, but songs like "Christraping Black Metal" are pretty useful if you want to clear out a room/building/city block by playing them loudly. Also, I can't help but appreciate their over-the-top song titles like "Fistfucking God's Planet" and the samples from The Exorcist. The vocals work well enough I suppose, the guitars are okay, drumming is a lot of blast beats which get so repetitive as to be mind-numbing. This can be good or bad depending on one's mood, I suppose.

The lyrics are hilariously, cartoonishly evil and belligerent. There are also some sound effects of airplanes and bombs being dropped in the beginning of "Baptism by Fire." I'm sort of unsure about how I feel about this album. I don't hate it, but it's not that great either. It just sounds like they were trying too hard to play fast and be "evil," and the result is slightly comical, overly repetitive, and vaguely musically incompetant. Still, I don't dislike it. It's just not something I could listen to very often.
